Detach

Today, I learned some valuable lessons about "letting go",
Yesterday,  I was looking for this valuable thing.  I almost emptied my closet just to find it and looked for it for several hours. Until I realized that God maybe teaching me something. Maybe I need to step back, detach and let go. Besides it was also late and I need to wake up very early the next morning.  So I let go of it and thought I would find it soon, then I went to sleep.

Then tonight, when I reached home after office, I tried to search for it again and spent 1 more hour looking for it in other places until I got exhausted. Then I was reduced to this prayer, "Lord, if I am not able to find it in this one last place, I will accept it as totally lost. I will let go."  And with one last breath,  I emptied another drawer. Finally, I found it!

So at this last minute, I got inspired to write it in few bits of what I learned from this experience:
  • We need to detach from something in order to obtain something. I was too eager to find it too soon, I was not even thinking. I was losing control.
  • Sometimes,  we need to step back and think things over. Is it worth the search? Is it worth losing sleep?
  • Sometimes, we are looking at the wrong place. I did not find what I am looking for because I was not looking at the wrong direction.
  • Only when we let go can we be fulfilled. Whatever the outcome, you are ready and you will be satisfied.
  • If I spent too much hours just to look for that one special thing, how much more will God (our Father) will seek us out.
